REVIEW: Tracks by Sarah Biermann

Title: Tracks

Series: Rock Bottom, #1

Author: Sarah Biermann

Genre: New Adult Rocker Romance (18+)

My Rating: School School School School

When Harvard Law student, Dylan Ackhart, moves to Boston with her best friend- the last thing she expects to find is Jeremy Mason. Jeremy is sexy, smart, and passionate- and currently the most famous rock star in the world.

From the first moment Dylan meets Jeremy, she’s attracted to him. But she soon finds the fame and press can wear on you. Plus, Jeremy seems to be hiding things from her- including his relationship with the mysterious blue-haired girl.

Tracks takes you on a ride through the not so glamorous side of dating a rock star- sex, drugs, rock and roll.

In this fast paced book about opposites attracting, whirlwind romances, heartache, sex, drugs, personal healing, and rock & roll Sarah Biermann manages to write a book that is a definite page turner. I found myself reading into the wee hours of the morning, determined to find out what would happen next.

Dylan has some serious emotional scars from her parents but especially her mother. I liked how independent and driven she was in the beginning yet she was also very shy and inexperienced at the same time. In the last half, she became a bit clingy and almost seemed to hide her head in the sand about things which was annoying and caused me to yell at my tablet a few times. Jeremy is a musical savant, hot, and a bit cocky at times. Yet he is actually harboring a lot of his own emotional demons and uses not so great ways to hide from it. There were times I swooned over him and other times I wanted to smack him around a bit. Overall they were well written and I could easily empathize with some of their emotions.

The story is different (in a good way) from other rocker romance books and it keeps the reader on their toes. The book flowed smoothly from one scene to the next. Great story and I am glad Dylan and Jeremy’s story continues in the 2nd book. I’m giving this 4 out of 5 books.
